This is the bit where you have to write something about yourself and unless you are full of self-confidence it can be a little embarrassing.
So here goes.I left school at the age of sixteen with, well, not much. Expectations were low: get a job, any would do, and join the rat race. So I raced. For a long time, I had no calling. I did a bit of everything, progressed up the career ladder, then fell down again. Started over.
Then I found writing. It took about sixty years, but eventually, it called me. I suppose I'm a late starter, but now it's a passion.
There is a saying. “Write about what you know,” so that’s what I try to do. So far, I’ve written about growing up, life in the 1960s and 70s England, and gardening. I write, calling on life experience, whatever the subject.
But most of all, I write to entertain. The world is hard; entertainment is needed. I hope the readers of my books will be entertained. If it makes you smile, if only a little, then my work is done.
This is where it all started.
This blog is about a journey into the past to the present. It could include anything. I find that life is like that.
